| I am the second generation Ryan born and raised in Hawaii. My Father is a quarter each, Hawaiian Samoan, Irish and Scot. I am all of that plus Spanish and Chinese. My five children have all of that plus German and Japanese. My Grandfather was half Irish and half Samoan from Samoa. We have relatives that were born with red hair and fair skin like myself and my Grandfather. I would love to visit Ireland one day and meet the Ryan Clan

| Hi, my mother was born in Liverpool as Catherine McGrath. Her parents immigrated to England, but were Irish. She never has visited ireland, but I did visit this beautifull Island twice. Both North and South. I have sweet memories of ireland and I did some research to learn more about the McGrath clan. I write religious poems, so that may be no so strange. If you like to have more information, feel free te email me.
God bless you. |

| Hi, very interesting information. Need more, though. My Irish family names are Garvey & Wise. I believe that my great grandmother, Nellie Garvey, was from Galway and sailed to the USA out of Cork. My husbands Irish family names are Meighen and Hagan. Don't know much about where they were born or sailed from. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you. |

| Hello,
I met Rosaleen in Milwaukee, WI just yesterday, Saturday, Aug. 16th. What a wonderful and talented woman. She worked hard and spent so much of her life getting the information found at this site. I so very, very, much appreciate all of her hard work. My maternal great-grandparents both migrated from Ireland. County Mayo and Cty. Wexford. I have felt a strong connection with them although we never met on this earth. I have also started knitting. So here is another way for me to connect with my ancesterial history. Thank you Rosaleen for allowing me to find out more about my Murphy and Nolan family history.
Warmly,
Theresa Kasdorf |

| I signed the guestbook earlier in the year claiming Irish heritage even though the name is not known as an Irish surname. My parents told me we were of Irish decent on both sides of the family.I have traced some of my ancestors and they are indeed Irish but one grandfather put the place of birth of his father on the census as being Gates. Is this of any significance to anyone ? |

| I have a little bit of information on my family, but have hit a dead-end. My great-great grandfather was William Percy, the second son of Lord John? Percy. William was disinherited for marrying the gate-keeper's daughter (Sarah Boyd). I would love to have a Clanaran sweater, but you don't have one for Percy. Was the name changed? Is there a different clan I should be looking for? |

| Your website is lovely. I treasure my Irish sweaters. I have five, all handknitted in Ireland but purchased at T.J. Maxx. My family name is McGovern but did not see it on the list, is it a version of another name ? I grew up in Woodside, a town in Queens, NY. I always thought it was the "little Ireland" of NY. Every other child in my grammer school (St. Sebastian's) was Irish. In fact I noticed many of their names on your list. I love Irish music and films. I would love to purchase sweaters or patterns once I know which one represents my family name. Never been to Ireland but it's on my "bucket list". |

| Since my wife & I visited the Aran Islands three years ago I've regreted that I didn't get a clanaran sweater. Recently my wife started knitting again (grandchildren). I asked her if she would knit me a clan sweater. "Get the pattern!", she said. Google is great. Found this website and ordered the FitzGerald kit. My fraternal grandmother, who raised me was a FitzGerald. Her grandfather was born in Ireland. Soon I will have a clan sweater made by my wife. Who couldask for more?
I told her after that she could knit the O'Donnell clan sweater for me, in honor of my maternal grandfather (who I was named after) whose grandfather was born in Ireland.
Thanks for the great website and making it possible to fulfill a past desire. |

| Thank you for a fine, informative website. I have an Aran handknit, purchased in Ardara, Donegal, twenty--five years ago. I've no idea as to its family pattern, if indeed it has one. Diamonds filled with moss in the middle, a border, then honey comb are the front and back. One thing is certain; it's just the ticket for Maine weather most seasons of the year. |

| Happy St. Patricks Day to all my Irish brothers and sisters! My father's people, with the surname of Britt, came from Sligo and Tipperary in early 1800's and settled in Kingston, New York. The relative I have that came from Ireland is, Charles Wesley Britt and his family. Before that, the names were Welsh and Herdman. I love doing genealogy and if anyone knows of the Britt family, I'd love to hear from you! Do you have a sweater in the Britt name? |

| Thank you for the information. I would like more information about the family of O'Shields. they came in the 17 hundereds to the United States.
Most of the family lived in North Carolina until 1895 when my grandmother,Mary Trish O'Shields was born. then they moved to a small town in south Carolina.
Thank you for all your help. |

| Hi! Love the site and the sweaters. My hubby is Irish - Kelly on his mother's side. His mom was Rita Catherine and his grandma was Sally. They are both gone now. But Sally at one time had been invited to Ireland for a family reunion at one time, but she didn't get to attend. They are both gone now. Trying to find out some info. If you have anything to share, just e-mail me.''Thanks!" |
