Maybe it was another site but I could swear it was yours and now its not listed. It could also be spelled Peden as some changed the spelling when they came over in the 1600s.

What a delight today when I received the Merino Wool Sweater I ordered. I have needed a new one for sometime since the one I bought when I was in County Mayo in 1985 had worn out. Your craftspeople are gifted and I will truly enjoy wearing such a beautifully knitted sweater. I will have the added benefit of teaching my Grandchildren the meaning of the different weaves. God bless all and may God keep you close to his heart. Thank you.

Hello from Texas! I've just now arrived at the Clanarns.com website and am looking forward to seeing more of it. My married name is McAninch, Scotch-Irish out of Country Antrim, but my Irish ancestors had/have the name of Scally. William Scally was my fifth great-grandfather and arrived in Virginia prior to the American Revolution on the brig Fanny. I think the ship sailed from Dublin, but I have no idea what county he might have come from. When we had the pleasure of visiting Ireland I found about 20 Scallys in the Dublin telephone book. I'd be happy to hear from anyone who knows of the Scallys or just wants to talk about Ireland and/or Texas and the U.S.

Just wanted to say hello to the people in the world and let you know that I am here. Have a lovely afternoon and email me if you would like. You never know, we just may be related.

Thank you so much, this just adds one more item of information about my Irish ancesters, mainly from Kilmaley in County Clare. I am a desendant of Partick Hayes and Catherine Cormody that came to America about 1866. They were my Great-Great Garndparents, and I don't know if it is from a proud Irish Grandfather or if it is in the bloodline but all of the patterns in the Aran Sweater for Hayes so fit me and my feelings of life. Thank You again. Jacki

Searching for husband's ancestors who left Co Meath for USA mid 1800's -think Ship Cambridge out of Liverpool to NY. We think it was a sailing schooner as the voyage took about 3 months and was arduous He was m to Maria Reburn, He worked as an engraver or in a bookstore in NY. Had a son George born there. After 2-3 years they moved to Fond Du Lac Wisconsin and he worked as a farmer and had 4-5 more children. One-- Thomas A. Casey was our grandfather. He m. Hermina Herrgesell( b Bohemia) of Ludington Michigan They ended up in Sultan Washington state. In Ireland all we know is County Meath. No documents or death certificates in USA. So wonder iif any one out there has this Casey and Reburn in their tree. Birth, Marriage or immigration records would be wonderful to get.. James was born 1810, died 1866. Maria born 1817 and died age 72 in 1889. They died USA but do not know what city or State. Would love to find living relatives. Joyce joyc@olypen.com

Most of the famous Irish clans are listed except mine? I am directly descended from Somerled Ghillbhrighde who was the father of the founders of the MacDonald Clan in Scotland. Somerled came over from Ulster in around 1165 so I can safely say that I am of IRISH origin. Please advise as to your records concerning this chap. Many thanks and kindest regards, Stiobhard.

Even though my married last name is German, my husband actually comes from the DeLongs and the "dirty Durkins" as his family lovingly calls them.My father's father(since my father died years ago noone knows my grandfather's first name) was involved in Politics in Connecticut, USA and was full Irish and his wife Viviene was full French, her people came from France and were French Bakers. On my Mother's side we have the Connolly's and the MacIntyre's.It's funny how here in America we view Ireland as our "Homeland" even though we are the generation of Americans and have never been there. There's one thing that I did teach my 3 sons, now grown men,and that is be proud of your heritage and if I see one black eye come through that door there had better be three!Wish I could have found my clan on your registry.

Many thanks for supplying the Irish Clan information. Stumbled onto your site and now have a better understanding of my grandfather's Clan name. I just recently found out I'm Irish! Maybe now, that explains why I have always loved Aran sweaters! My grandfather's family name is MacMahon, now I just need to determine from which of the two clans his family descends. Again, thanks for posting the family crest and information on what the patterns represent.

Looking for information on "Jno or John" Daly. The Census US shows him as "Head of Household" and a laborer along with his wife "Anna" and his sons "Thos and Patrick", and daughters "Anne and Mary" in the late eighteen hundreds. They resided Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania. It also states that John & Anna were both born in Ireland. I am trying to trace which County in Ireland so I can also trace my grandmother Anna's family name as well. My grandmother was Anne who had my father Harry whom in turn had me & my twin brother. If anyone can give me any information, please e-mail me.
