| My family decends from the Casey, Carney, and Little lines. I have located a sweater pattern for the Casey line, but neither the Carney, nor the Little line seem to have patterns. This could quite possibly be the result of their work status'. I am aware that the Caseys were ship builders and laborers. | My grandparetns (mother's side) were John J. Donovan & Ellen (Nellie) Donovan (Maiden name was Donovan) from Dunmanway (spelling?), County Cork. They migrated in the late 1880's to Boston, meeting on the ship as they cam from opposite sides (& parishes) in Dunmanway.
Gram's sisters were Julia, Kathleen or Catherine, & 3 others whose names I can't recall. We have Sullivans, Waldrons, & Donovans in the family.
I am planning on visiting Ireland with my class of Daughters of Charity in 2010 to celebrate our 50th - I no longer am a Daughter but I do know that Gram was taught by them in elementary school & they are still in Dunmanway.
Any help in locating relatives or even info to work into out itenerary is greatly appreciated. |

My Grandfather William (Bill) O Mahoney ( they dropped the O when immigrated to new Zealand.) when visiting London met my grandmother Emma, they fell in love and married. having lived through London during the 2nd world war they packed up the 10 children and immigrated to North Island new Zealand. Life was not easy for this large family who took on as well another family with several children due to Mrs Collins husband dying on the trip over. A wonderful giving family. My Mother Elieen, in turn married my father ..surname Hodder. They are in their late 80's and still in New Zealand. |

| I have always interesting in Irish history and its incredible heritage, and im trying to keep inform of that rich history and i wish i could see that country in person.....who knows it may come the day to come because i just adore everything ancient and original......and that's inland where one can find such a thing........

| My mothers maternal grandfathers family was Higgins, Surry County, NC - that's as far back as anyone knows ecept one entry in a burnt family book does say something about O hUigin. My fathers mothers family was Idol, traced back to early 1800's as Eytl (Irish or Scottish not known). Location not known but most of this family came from Virginia. Before that - not known. Help?
