Beautiful website! I was able to forward this to my father who is Norman William Lynch III, who takes great pride in heritage but was not able previously to find much about who his ancestors were due to his father's passing. Thank you for this site; it means so much more than just the country where your name originated.

Hi my families are Hayes and Kelly. I do not know much about my blood line. This was the first time I had seen my Crest. My son has a Celtic Cross tattoo on his chest. I have always wanted a Green Cardigan but it seems as though you only have the white. I am sure I will be back at sometime. Thanks for the little bit of history.

I am the great-granddaughter of DAVID O'SULLIVAN. DAVID, as to what I was told by older relatives Orginally he came from NYACK, NY he married a African American woman named Mary Freeman, they moved from Nyack in the 1900's toward Paterson, NJ then from there to West Orange, NJ then finally to Orange , NJ where they had two daughters named Margaret and Ethel and a son named Clifford. David removed the "O" from his name and just used SULLIVAN. My grandmother was Margaret. Margaret married John Toliver and Ethel Married Leonard Johnson both men were African American. I grew up with very light skin and very straight hair, I always would ask my mother(Margaret's daughter) WHY AM I SO LIGHT & WHY IS MY HAIR SO DIFFERENT? I would never get the corret answer, it was like it was a secret, I guess back then it was. I always thought my family orginated from the south, but I was told we migrated from NYACK, NY and that the women married southern men. I was looking to find out if anyone from back then remember any O"SULLIVANS from that area, perhaps they could be relatives that I have longed to find. I just want to know my history and I have my own family now and they ask questions that I want to give them answers to and not be like my past parents and relatives, who were very closed mouth about the migrating of the races. This is AMERICA, WE ALL HAVE A MIXTURE OF ONE THING OR ANOTHER WITHIN US!! GOD BLESS!! & THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! :)
Name: James (Jimi)   Email: Rowe   Country: United States Date Added: Saturday 13 January, 2007
My great great grand father Mathews migrated to Bloomington, Indiana USA in about 1849. He had two children. I know his daughter was 16 years old in 1859 when president Lincoln was on the campain trail. She saw him in Bloomington , IN on the back of a train. I know her daughter ( my grand mother) was named Leota and she married a man from West Verginia named Wellington Dean Knapp around the first decade of the 20th century. They had five children: James (Jay) born 1912, a daughter, I don't know her name, that died in the 1950s, Bettie Jane born 1920, John (jack) born 1924s, and Barbara Joanne (Jo) born 1926. If any of this sounds familiar I would love to hear from you at jimiandjen@insightbb.com. Please NO ADVERTISMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your sweaters. I picked up a couple a few years back when I was in Ireland and they are hands-down my favorites. I get SO many compliments on each of them, I feel I should thank you. My handknit, oiled sweater I wear as a coat for a good portion of the spring and fall seasons; I even wear it often in the winter - no small thing since I live in Minnesota, where it gets quite cold. Keep encouraging young people to learn knitting - these sweaters should be worn by everybody!

What a fantastic website! I am searching for information on my grandfather David Edwin Davis and his parents who came directly from Ireland to the United States in the 1890's. They settled in Michigan. He married a Clara Josephine Davis (her maiden name was also Davis, although they were not related) in 1901. She is of Welsh/English decent. Any information would be greatly appreciated. It seems like the David Edwin Davis name and the Edwin David Davis seem to be early family traditions. Our family is quickly dwindling in size and we are trying to gather information. Thank you. I love these Aran sweaters. Must purchase one soon!

hi, i really like the look of these arran jerseys, might have to save up for one. My Alexander great - grandfather came out here to New Zealand from the top of County Antrim in 1874 and married a Jane Martin from the same area. On my mother's side my great - great grandfather William Welsh arrived here in 1848 from Tralee via the Scottish ship the Philip Laing, i have to decide whether to order a clan 'Martin' or clan 'Walsh' jersey as my Alexander forebears in Ireland don't feature, by all accounts arrived there from Scotland sometime long ago. This is a really interesting site, i like those big Irish flat caps too. John A

With my last name being Galloway, I have done some looking into it and I have read that it dates back to the 12th or 13th century. Are there anymore IRISH Galloway's out there?
